Read what is excluded

Ask for a precise explanation
A useful message is: “This vehicle shows no security deposit. Please confirm whether any damage excess remains, which exclusions apply, and which payments are still required when I book and when I collect it.”
Ask the provider to relate the answer to your specific car and dates. Keep that response with the agreement and booking confirmation.
Choose using complete information
Compare the total rental cost, the amount of money tied up, and the responsibilities stated in the contract. Those are separate trade-offs. Our recommendation is to pause whenever an important amount or condition is missing, and have the provider explain it before you reserve.
A simple example, not a live quote
Imagine an offer where the security-deposit field says zero but the agreement still lists responsibilities for certain damage. There is no contradiction: one field describes money held at collection; the other describes contractual responsibility. This is an illustrative scenario, not the terms of a particular vehicle.
Similarly, a booking advance is part of arranging the rental, not automatically a refundable security hold. The labels should be read alongside the explanation of each amount.
Make your decision in the right order
First establish which payments and responsibilities exist. Next clarify missing limits or exclusions with the provider. Only then compare costs and decide whether the arrangement suits you.
