Apply the no-deposit option where available, then keep your airport, dates, times and extras unchanged while comparing cars. A cheaper daily rate is not a useful comparison if one offer omits airport delivery, a required extra or the cover you selected.
Write down the total payable now, the balance due at collection, and the amount shown for the security deposit. If a payment condition is missing, ask the supplier to explain it before you proceed.
Before airport collection
Save the confirmed no-deposit condition with your voucher. Check that the pickup location is the airport rather than a city office. At handover, read the agreement before signing and ask about any condition that differs from your confirmation.

Build a like-for-like no-deposit comparison
Use one row for every offer and leave the dates, handover times and return location unchanged. Record the full rental total, optional cover you actually selected, essential extras, booking advance and balance at pickup. Put the security deposit in its own column, rather than adding a refundable hold to the rental price as though it were an unavoidable fee.
A zero-deposit option may still be a poor fit if the car is too small, pickup is inconvenient or the payment method does not work for you. Choose the complete arrangement, not just the badge.
What should you do when nothing matches?
There is no obligation to reserve a substitute. Review another car or another supplier, or consider a low-deposit offer only after checking whether the money tied up is manageable for you. Do not change an essential condition just to finish a booking.
