Distinguish landing from collection
Enter a realistic handover time and ask how the supplier wants flight details recorded. Allow for your own arrival process rather than assuming the car can be collected at the moment the aircraft lands.
Ask whether a late-hours charge applies and whether it is already included in the final quote. Request the exact meeting location, not simply “at the airport”.
Agree a delay procedure
A useful message is: “My flight is scheduled to arrive at this time. Please confirm the planned collection time, any late-hours fee, who I should contact if delayed, and what happens if arrival moves past midnight.”
Do not rely solely on an assumption that the supplier monitors flights. Localrent's Montenegro terms explain that arriving outside the arranged pickup without prior coordination can be treated as a no-show. Review the current wording and coordinate any changes directly.
Save an arrival pack
- Your booking reference and confirmed pickup instructions.
- The supplier's contact number and agreed communication channel.
- Written confirmation of the late collection arrangement.
- The payment and security-deposit requirements.
Keep an offline copy where possible so the information is available even before you have a reliable connection.
Know your fallback
If the supplier cannot confirm collection at your expected time, compare another suitable offer or plan collection later. Consider how you would reach your accommodation in that case; do not book on an unsupported promise of overnight service.

Make the date as clear as the time
A planned handover after midnight belongs to a different calendar day. Include the full date and local time in the supplier message rather than saying only “late on Friday”. Ask what happens if a delay crosses midnight and whether the pickup arrangement or any charge changes. This does not imply that overnight handover is offered for every vehicle.
Before you board
Keep the voucher and supplier contact details available offline. Check that the agreed pickup time still matches your current arrival plan. If the flight changes, coordinate with the supplier rather than assuming that providing a flight number automatically updates the reservation.
A confirmed fallback can be as simple as collecting the car later, but its feasibility and any cost depend on the provider and your onward plans. Resolve that decision before landing whenever possible.
